Why do we find the MBTI® assessment useful?
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® assessment provides a revealing look into how we prefer to do things. This can open doors to seeing and understanding ourselves and others more clearly. The MBTI® assessment is excellent for exploring one’s own unique way of being and interacting. This reveals energy management strategies, expands awareness of others’ preferences, and helps related skill development. Gaining these awarenesses and skills expands leadership capacity. Most important, the MBTI® assessment is a starting point for questions and exploration. To provide even more insight, we use the Step II interpretive report, which includes facets within each preference pair.
The MBTI® assessment for each individual includes one 60-minute session with an experienced MBTI® certified practitioner who is also knowledgeable about the world of academia. In addition to assessment interpretation, this session will include discussion of working strategically with your preferences in your current context.
Why use the MBTI® assessment for team building?
All the benefits of the MBTI® assessment for individuals jump-start the ability to work productively with differences, and facilitate clearer communication across differences. Without explicit attention, various differences and even similarities can be sources of frustration and disruption. The MBTI® Work Styles Comparison report provides a framework for noticing, investigating, and developing strategies for making good use of both. In other words, it helps team members quickly get to know and appreciate each other in a strategic way.
Why include two follow-up sessions? What’s the benefit?
In the MBTI® Work Styles Comparison interpretation session, you will get an initial look at possible style differences, similarities, and synergies. After a few months of working together, you will gain some very practical knowledge of your teamwork. Revisiting the initial ideas and questions with updated information can be a significant support to modify strategies, to identify any possible reactivity and turn it toward more productive channels, and to bring out unexpected synergies. These sessions provide an opportunity to debrief the working relationship, with the support of a coach, in order to continue to improve it.
Benefits
