Brief Consultations

Why a brief consultation? What can come out of an hour or two conversation?

Can we help you make it flawless in a brief consultation of, say, an hour? No, of course not. But here’s what we can do within a short, cost-effective session.

You bring your goals, circumstances, observations, and questions.

We bring our experience in organizational change in academia, which gives us the knowledge and perspective to identify critical points and patterns, to ask good questions, and to focus conversations on what matters for you.

A brief consultation is an opportunity to get an expert, confidential reflection on topics such as:

  • assessing the scope and effectiveness of your current efforts, knowledge, and plan
  • discussing challenges and barriers
  • identifying untapped resources
  • considering the strengths and weaknesses of your change team

Do you sometimes wish you had a compass to point you in the right direction?

We can help you find your compass (or interpret it):

  • in the midst of territories such as difficult change processes, rapidly changing financial or political landscapes, or apparently unresolvable conflict
  • when you’ve reached a crossroads with many possible directional choices, and would just like to talk with someone about how to think about those choices
  • where you are in the process of planning your change effort and want some external input on the design

Kardia Group change experts are available for advice and guidance for making change in academia.

What else might I tap into? To get some new strategies, or address a specific problem?

Maybe a consultation doesn’t feel like the right thing. We also have a selection of asynchronous courses aimed at some of the toughest problems in leadership, working with others, and making change. Again, will any given course fix everything? No. However, they can support you by:

  • offering specific, relevant information on important topics
  • asking reflection questions designed to help you apply that knowledge to your unique circumstances
  • being easily accessible, on your schedule – and cost-effective

Below are some examples of these courses.

This course features a 35-minute video presentation with a selection of strategies to build resilience.

Navigating Conflict in Discussions
